The store is within The Royals shopping centre, towards the sea front, opposite Adventure Island.

By Car:

The main road into Southend-on-Sea is the A127. At the very end of this road, take the first exit at the roundabout onto Queenway/A1160. Follow for 5 minutes as the road passes over a large roundabout. At the next roundabout, turn right onto Chancellor Road. At the next cross roads, turn left to follow signs for the shopping centre car park. Follow the road round to the right and turn right in to the car park.

The Royals offers parking spaces for 450 cars. Satellite navigation users should follow the postcode SS1 1DG.

By Train:

The store is about a 2 minute walk from Southend Central and ten minutes walk away from Southend Victoria railway station. Trains arrive and depart approximately every 20 minutes daily, with London being only 40 minutes away.

By Bus:

The store is within minute’s walk of the main Southend bus station, with regular services arriving and departing throughout the day.

Your NHS Entitlement

Get a free eye test

Some patients qualify for a free NHS eye examination and optical vouchers. Find out if you are eligible for a free vision test.

Aged 16, 17 or 18 in full time education
Aged 60 or over
Diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
Considered to be at risk of glaucoma (as advised by an ophthalmologist)
Aged 40 or over and the parent, brother, sister, son or daughter of a person diagnosed with glaucoma
Registered blind or partially sighted
Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher (your optician will advise on your entitlement)
Claiming Benefit (Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income Related Employment Support Allowance, Universal Credit, Income Support, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit or receiving Tax Credits and meeting qualifying conditions)
On a low income and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate

I would like to commend your staff on their excellent customer service.

Last Wednesday, 11/6 my son came out of school with broken glasses. These has been knocked off of his face and onto the floor whilst playing football. The frames were broken and the lenses wouldnt stay in place. I rang your store (Southed on Sea) at 4pm and explained my situation. Fortunately we had taken out your insurance protection when the glasses were purchased. You staff member said she had a frame in stock which she held for me. I arrived at your store at 2 minutes to 5pm and was warmly greeted by two staff members. They were unsure as to whether the lenses in his existing glasses could be easily set into the new frame, but understood that as he wears them all the time it would be quite urgent. Therefore with the help of a third member of your staff they promptly set about replcing the frame and using the existing lenses which were undamaged. Within less than 10 minutes all the insurance paperwork was complete and we were walking out of your store with a new frame into which the old lenses had been fixed. I have never recieved such a high level of customer service and certainly didnt expect same day let alone 10 minute turn around. The three women in question we excellent and i hope that you will feed this positive feedback to them. It is well deserved. 10/10"

Last week I trod on my glasses in the night time and I wear rimless frames. They were damaged and I was worried that I would have to buy a new pair. I took them into the store and I thought that I would have to pay to get them fixed but they did it for me for free.
They asked me if I would like to make a contribution to charity instead. The next day I was so impressed I went in to buy a pair of rx goggles. I was told that I would have to order them in for me but I am so impressed with the service.
