My Grandfather had his eyes tested at our local Tesco but they could not forfill his perscription for over a week. As my grandparents are due to fly to Spain on Tuesday I told them to try Vision express as this is my usual opticians.
They asked me to call first to make sure that Vision Express could help. So I did this and spoke to Wendy. This lady was fantastic she was very patient and took down all of the details of my Grandfathers prescription over the telephone. The instruction she gave me in order to give her this information were clear and concise and very easy to follow. Once I had given her all the information needed she double checked with the lab and informed me that 1 lens was not in stock but could be ordered in and ready for Monday. This was fantastic! My Grandparents visited the store on the same afternoon and was served by Wendy who remembered the conversation she had with me and dealt with my grandparents personally.
I think this is amazing customer service and is very rare nowadays it definitely made my grandparents feel at ease and as if they were getting special treatment.
I hope you can pass on mine and my Grandparents Thanks to Wendy. A good Job well done and I think Tesco have lost two customers to you in the future."

Prior to attending your Merry Hill opticians my wife had been attending the hospital for eye problems, she had laser treatment on several occassions but basically we had no feedback from the hospital so after being given no appointment until June she thought everything was OK and all we needed to do was have her eyes tested and get new lens for her glasses. We arranged an appointment at Merry Hill and my wife was seen on the 16th April 2013 by optician Emma Orton.
Emma found a problem and arranged an emergency appointment at the hospital. My wife was seen and was transferred to the main eye centre in Birmingham, she has now had a operation on one eye with a further operation planned for the future.The problem Emma found was very serious.The local hospital failed in there treatment and communication, if Emma had not acted on her findings we do not know what position my wife would be in.
We wish to thank Emma and congratulate Vision Express for their testing procedures and service.

I want to write this letter to congratulate the customer service that I received from your Merry Hill branch- Kath Baker in particular!
I made a visit to the Canary Wharf branch when I lived in London in 2012, and if I am honest I felt like cattle- in and out for as much money as they could get out of me. At this point I just decided to keep my old glasses and not purchase anything.
I usually use Vision Express in Merry Hill, but after my experience in London I was debating whether or not to move to Specsavers, as it seemed they valued their customers more from what friends have said. I did decide (as Vision Express already had my data on file) it would just be easier to give it one last try.
From entering the store, throughout my eye test and my search for glasses I must have said hello to all present members of staff and was made to feel very welcome. Appropriate personal conversations were created with a few members of staff also. After my eye test the optician left me in the care of Kath Baker who is a remarkable asset to your company and should be commended for her good work!
She spent a considerable amount of time with me offering me different glasses, advice and offers that were on at the time and also which was the best package for me personally. After much deliberation I purchased not one but two pairs of glasses and contact lenses (as I am a dancer and wearing glasses while I dance is impractical). I was made to feel special as well, as I got my eye test for free and my second pair of glasses at a discount.
Overall I felt compelled to write to your company to let you know that thanks to the staff at the Merry Hill branch and Kath Baker in particular, you have a loyal customer in me and I have recommended you to many of my friends and family after my experience.

I rarely review or leave comments about customer service but I was served by a Martin Baker and was so impressed I felt it was my duty.
It was the first time I have ever had glasses and Martin was helpful and courteous without being intrusive which seems to be a very hard feat these days.

"Lost my glasses on a school car park. Someone found them but they were flattened, bent and lenses out. Rang vision express Merry Hill at about 6.00pm. The lady said come over we will look at them. "On Tuesday 6th March 2012 I visited your store at MerryHill Shopping Mall in Brierley Hill to look at and try on glasses frames. My wife and I were attended to by a young lady named Susan who, with much patience, guided us through your system. Having chosen a pair of designer glasses she arranged for an eye test on that day and took time to measure and alter the glasses to fit for varifocal lenses. She really made the process easy and comfortable for me. My eye test was done by Mr.Bhasker Patel who took the time to explain the condition of my eyes and show me previously taken photographs of the eyes, again taking his time and placing me at ease. The third stage of rechecking measurements and ensuring that I ordered the correct items was carried out by Nikki who then relieved me of my money! Well done MerryHill, excellent service."
