The store is situated inside The Braehead Shopping Centre.  We are on the Ground Floor, across from Boots and next to WH Smith.

Car:

The shopping centre is easily reached from junction 26 of the M8 motorway.  At the exit, leave the roundabout to join the A8 towards Braehead and Hillington.  Carry on over the next round about onto Mayo Avenue.  Turn right at the next roundabout and stay in the left hand lane to bear left.  Head towards the shopping centre car park, which offers over 6,500 dedicated free parking spaces.

Bus/Train/Underground:

The nearest railway station to the Braehead Centre is Paisley Gilmour Street. From there, you can catch one of the many regular buses to Braehead.
If you are traveling through Glasgow city centre, then it is best to catch a bus from the city centre.

The closest underground stop to Braehead is Govan, from where there are frequent buses. The journey time is around 12 minutes.

Get a free eye test

Some patients qualify for a free NHS eye examination and optical vouchers. Find out if you are eligible for a free vision test.

Free Eye Tests

  • The traditional NHS sight test has been replaced by a comprehensive Eye Test
  • The new NHS Eye Test is not just an Eye Test for spectacles but an eye health assessment
  • The new test is free to all patients, in accordance with NHS terms and conditions
  • Eligible patients are entitled to a free NHS Eye Test every two years
    (More frequent tests may be required should your optometrist find it necessary.)

You qualify for an optical voucher which provides financial help towards the cost of your spectacles or contact lenses if you are:

  • Aged under 16
  • Aged 16, 17 or 18 in full time education
  • Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher
    (your optician will advise on your entitlement)
  • Claiming benefit
    (Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Related Employment Support Allowance, Income Support, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit or receiving Tax Credit and is named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate or Universal Credit and meeting qualifying conditions)
  • On a contribution based employment support allowance and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate

Your complaint will be acknowledged within 2 working days and you will receive an estimate of how long the investigation of your complaint is likely to take.

Alternatively, if you are entitled to National Health Services then please be aware that you are at liberty to bring your complaint to the attention of your local Health Board. Our staff in-store will provide you with the local Health Board details on request. If you are not happy with how your complaint has been handled either by us or by your local Health Board and/or your complaint relates to your Eye Exam, spectacles or contact lenses, you can contact the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman, Freepost EH 641, Edinburgh, EH3 OBR, telephone 0800 377 7330.
