I would like to say a big thank you to one of your Optometrists.
He is MR ZAHEER HAMAYUN who at this time is working from your shop at Gateshead Metro Centre but he did mention he was transferring to Manchester very soon. When I went for my examination with him he took time to listen to my problems and (correctly) diagnosed a problem I was unaware of, he was very professional in his approach, extremely patient and diligent with his diagnosis.
Many thanks as far as I am concerned he will be a miss from the Gateshead shop and I wish him well at his new position in Manchester.

We attended this store for my daughter to get contact lenses. The staff were amazing, she spent time with John who was really helpful and very knowledgeable about the assortment of lenses and which would be the best suited for my daughter. Rebecca then took over and she was amazing. She helped my daughter with trying to put in and remove the lenses and her approach to my daughter was outstanding.She was aware she had autisim so gave her the space she needed but also was able to help and support her to become familiar with the lenses. I would recommend this store to anyone the staff were so professional and helpful

I would like to commend and thank the staff at Vision Express in the Metro Centre store and Sue Wales in particular.
I have a great deal of difficulty with my vision as I only use one eye and also need varifocal lenses. I have never really been able to see clearly for a long time. The staff have all helped me on various occasions and have persevered to get it right for me.
Sue Wales however has now continued to work with me for months to try to get the best she can for me and I am so very very grateful.
I do hope all the staff and Sue in particular can be acknowledged for this superb customer service.

I came in for an eye test and found I needed glasses. The Optician couldn't have been nicer. He took me across to meet Tom who would help me find glasses that would suit me. Although I only had 20 minutes before the store closed, Tom was kind, making sure my purchase wasn't rushed but also being supportive and helpful. He made the whole purchase stress free and is an asset to the store. I've never felt so confident whilst wearing glasses. Thank you Tom.

Yesterday 17 November 2012 I was in store with my wife while she was getting some new glasses. She had uploaded a picture to the website so that she could check out some glasses on line.
The service from the moment we entered the store was exceptional. As a man I am not a great fan of shopping but as a businessman I was very impressed with the customer service provided.
In particular I want to single out Ben for his professional skills and his excellent communication skills. He was very knowledgeable and engaging from the start of the process. Thank you Ben for an example for exceptional customer service and care, you are a credit to Vision Express.

I would like to just take some time to thank the outstanding service given to me at the Gateshead Vision Express. I know praise is rare these days, and people are quick to complain, but I will be using and recommending Vision Express for many years to come after my recent visits.
I have a rare condition where metal in glasses reacts very badly with the skin on my face, creating an extreme rash. Having past the 30 days of replacment after purchase, I visited the store only to find the staff were completely understanding and, no questions asked, replaced my glasses with plastic counterparts at no cost to myself.
They were friendly, easy to talk to, and polite. An absolute testiment to the company.

I recently chose to visit your branch at the Metro Centre for a routine eye examination, I have in the past suffered from optic myelitis and have been left feeling nervous and afraid when visiting the optician (similar to some people's fear of the dentist!)
I feel I need to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the staff there, I was made to feel at ease and valued as a customer- each member of staff showed a level of professionalism and care which should be commended, from the lady on reception, the optician, to the gentleman (I believe his name was Dan) who helped me with my glasses choice. I also spoke with the manager of the store a week or so later when I decided to go onto the contact lens scheme- again the lady was so helpful and professional throughout my examination and test (taking lenses in and out).
As said before I feel compelled to write this as I feel each member of that team should know what a difference they make to customers like myself- each of them should feel proud and confident in their jobs and as a company you should feel proud to have such a professional, friendly and dedicated team.

Excellent service from the Metrocentre ,Gateshead store.
My husband and I needed eye tests and new spectacles. This is always an expensive time for us, involving vari focals, high density lenses, reactive lenses, etc. and we tend to put it off (just like a visit to the dentist)
The service we received from the Metro Centre staff was perfect and we are now up to date for the next few years. The optician took time to investigate and suggest our requirements, Daniel helped us look at the most cost effective options, comparing offers, vouchers, etc. and listened and worked with us to pick new frames(we needed 4 between us). He also ensured that we got the most out of our visit, to include a free eye scan as part of our package.
The other staff were attentive, pleasant and helpful - a good store. Explanation was given for a delay in collecting our order - it was discovered that one frame had chipped paint and another had to be ordered.

I felt compelled to contact head office and tell you how pleased I am with the fantastic experience I had at your Metrocentre, Gateshead branch 5pm Monday 19th March. I was put at my ease when a friendly lady approached me and asked if I needed help. I explained I had been in the store the day before, and would like to make an appointment for a test for glasses and lenses, as I had decided on a pair of frames (which wasnt easy as there were so many to choose from!)
I was over the moon to find that I did'nt have to travel back, as after only a 2 minute wait, had my initial exam with a lovely young advisor, who escorted me to the Optician.
I was given a very thorough eye test, which incorporated my contact lense exam, and was advised I had dry eyes, and this explained why my eyes watered excessively, which had not been flagged at other opticians
I was made to feel very cared for, offered refreshments, and an assistant called Karen took care of all the forms, advised me of the fantastic discounts I would receive due to joining the contact lense scheme, and in addition did not make me feel ashamed of receiving help toward my glasses with my Tax credit exeption. I was delighted to find that Vision express gave me Nectar Points as the cherry on the cake.
Prior to this visit, I had felt Opticians appointments were a negative experience (after spending 3 hours in Specsavers last time), a neccessary evil, along with dental and doctors checks.
After visiting the Metrocentre branch, and having the pleasure of dealing with all the lovely, friendly, professional, and highly trained staff, I am recommending them to all my friends and family.
I've even liked your facebook page!
I'm not very confident, and avoid mirrors like the plague, but I was made to feel so at ease, I forgot all about them.

Me and my husband visited Vision Expess for the first time, my husband had never had an eye test before. The staff were all very nice but Rebecca was so nice and patient with us both, explaining it all, not just the exspensive glasses, thankyou so much.

I dropped into the store on Sunday 4th, and got an eye test within 20 minutes. All the staff are extremely friendly and professional. My Husband who came with said he felt the staff there were really nice..."and that's a lot coming from him...!"

I visited Vision Express for an eye test and some new lenses for my glasses, and was extremely impressed by the manners and courtesy of the staff. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable during my eye test, and in selecting some new prescription sunglasses. I also decided to try contact lenses for the first time thanks to Joe, who was amazingly encouraging and friendly throughout my appointment. Rebecca and John were also extremely informative and patient when trying some trial contact lenses; Rebecca has the highest patience levels of anyone I've met; and was so helpful when I practiced inserting and removing the trial contacts, and explaining how to properly look after them. Even staff who were not directly involved in my appointment were offering cups of coffee and words of encouragement! Vision Express is a fantastic opticians with the best customer service I have experienced, and I would recommend it to anyone.

We were in Vision Express in the Metro Centre on 26/03/11. We did not have an appointment but staff were able to arrange an eye examination within an hour. I was very impressed with all the staff there. Everyone went out of their way to see that we were well taken care of. The eye test was very comprehensive and in-depth, time was taken to see that the lenses would be correct. We were given tea and coffee, and were assisted, but not rushed into making our choice of frames. Unfortunately I did not get the names of all the staff who assisted us through the various stages that day. Praise is due to you all for your help. The young man Daniel Evans who took care of us could not do enough for us. He sold myself and my better half two pair of glasses each. The cost was very reasonable. Well done to all the staff for your high standards and pleasant manner. Other companies could learn a lot from the staff at the Metro centre. Vision Express - thank you.

I am visiting from Athens, Greece and was very dubious about Vision Express but all my fears were layed to rest very quickly. All the staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. The person I saw for contact lenses - John - was absolutely amazing. I can not praise him enough - kind, polite and completely interested in finding the right contact lenses for me. This was my first visit and I was extremely impressed by the level of customer service from every member of staff I encountered. The store was extremely busy but the personal attention I received was excellent and far exceeded my expectations. I received a free contact lense consultation and trial which has provided me with the option of daily disposables. I will not be returning to my old opticans but will now convert to Vision Express.

Thank you for a pleasant experience for me & my Mam. Paula the optician and Sue Wales could not have been more helpful. Although my Mam is over 80 she was treated with respect and both girls were polite, friendly and not condesending, which some people can be with the older generation. Quality at a good price (even for a pensioner), you can't argue with that.

I came into Vision Express just under a week ago after my daughter broke my glasses, they had a brilliant selection of frames and the nicest most helpful sales assistant i've ever encountered, she talked me through each type of lens available, payment options and tirelessly showed me a million different frames took photographs went through what looked good and bad about each frame, i think i was in the store for three hours with her. She even had my broken frames repaired as my new glasses would take three weeks to arrive, but they were in within the week and i am now sitting here wearing them. If anyone is considering buying glasses i suggest they visit Sue Wales at Vision Express shes an absolute star.
