Dolina Fraser - known as ‘Lena' to her friends and family - has retired from Vision Express in Inverness, following a twenty-year career after joining the store for its 1992 opening. Lena has left her position heading up the contact lens team at Vision Express in the Eastgate Centre, to spend more time with her children and seven grandchildren.
Originally joining as a part time receptionist after responding to a local newspaper advertisement, Lena was one of the store's first employees. She tackled several different roles in the store and undertook extensive training, before spending her final twelve years as a Contact Lens Associate.
Lena is planning on spending her retirement enjoying her time with her grandchildren, working in the garden, and travelling overseas - particularly to visit family in Canada and Australia.
Amy Watson, Store Manager, Vision Express Inverness comments: "Lena was the only remaining member of our team who has had worked at the store since it opened, so it's incredibly sad to see her go. She was a fantastic asset to the team, really popular with all the staff and will be sorely missed." Lena adds: "When I responded to the advert in 1992, little did I know that I would still be working with Vision Express twenty years on. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time, the team at Inverness have been great, and I will miss them. However, I'm looking forward to devoting more time to my wonderful grandchildren and seeing more of the world."
