Vision Express has confirmed the appointment of Simon Hope as Chief Financial Officer with effect from 9 July 2012.
Previously Finance Director of Claire’s in the UK and more recently a key member of Claire’s European management team, Simon was instrumental in the expansion of Claire’s European division which now comprises over 1,100 stores in 13 countries.
A graduate of the University of Nottingham, Simon trained as a Chartered Accountant at PwC in Nottingham. He has spent three years living and working in Australia and prior to Claire’s held various financial management positions within National Grid plc.
Commenting on his appointment Simon said, “I am delighted to be joining Vision Express, a successful and profitable business with a significant share of the UK optical goods market, and part of the GrandVision, Europe’s largest optical retailing group. I look forward to joining the management team to further build on the current reputation for customer service and to accelerate growth in sales and profitability.”
