Optometrists undertake an Optometry degree at University recognised by the College of Optometrists, which gives them access to a further year of study and examination in an optical practice under the supervision of a registered Optometrist.

Pre-reg Optometrists under supervision conduct thorough eye examinations and contact lens assessments. They also advise on spectacles and optical appliances to the highest professional standards and in accordance with the College of Optometrists guidelines.
