Four good reasons to get your child's eyes checked at Vision Express – book online today »

  • 1 in 5 children in the UK have an undetected eye problem
  • Vision and learning are closely related - 80% of what children learn is through vision
  • Eye tests at schools are no longer mandatory
  • Under 16s are entitled to a free eye test and a contribution towards glasses on the NHS

At Vision Express, we treat children differently. We know that having an eye test for the first time can be a bit daunting for younger children, and we want to make the experience more enjoyable for them and their parents. As such we have a new Kids Zone, as well a new member of staff in every store - Tiberias the Teddy Bear, who is around to help reassure children that they're in good hands!

As most schools no longer offer eye tests, fewer children are having their eyes checked regularly. That's why we want to make it easy and affordable to ensure your child's eyes are being properly cared for.

Vision and learning are closely related, so diagnosing problems early is extremely important to ensure that children of all ages reach their full academic potential. We recommend that every child's eyes should be checked at least once a year, as part of their overall health regime.

Our range of children's glasses offer exceptional durability and comfort; not to mention availability of glasses with benefits such as sprung hinges and memory metals. However, it's not all about comfort and safety - we want children to love wearing their glasses too. Our collections have been hand picked to offer the latest fashions with exclusive collections from brands including Ted Baker.

In this section you can browse our children's glasses range and read about the help and offers available for purchasing children's glasses at Vision Express. There's also a useful childrens opticians expert section to help you with questions concerning children's eye care, and you can always call your local opticians with any further questions or concerns.
